Joy Marie Price, 83 of Belvidere, IL died peacefully October 23, 2018, at OSF St. Anthony Hospital in Rockford, IL.  She was born to Raymond Sylvester and Naima (Johnson) Olson on March 6, 1935 in Chicago, IL. Joy married her sweetheart, Milton Price, February 21, 1953 in Chicago. They celebrated 65 years of marriage happily. She graduated from Senn High School in Chicago.

Joy retired from Ball Seed in West Chicago as a supervisor of seed gathering. She also worked at Geneva Cleaners and volunteered for Geneva Community Hospital for many years.  Joy continued this work by becoming a member and leader of the Geneva Community hospital Auxiliary. She also belonged to a bowling league in West Chicago as a spare picker upper. She was a room mother for her children in the schools. Joy loved animals, but was especially fond of cats. Joy took great care in making sure any stray cats were fed and loved. She was an avid reader and loved to go to the library where she and Milton were members. She also loved birds and was very familiar with the different species. She especially loved being a mom and a grandma. Joy loved all of her babies.

Joy will be dearly missed by her husband, Milton; daughters, Kimberlee (Kevin) Keenon, Pamela Marie (Reinhard) Pilz; son, Bradford (Lois) Price; grandchildren, Chris, Vanessa, Missy, Josh, Wes, Shawn, Mandie, Daniel, Cassie, Allison; great-grandchildren, Naomi, Paul, Edie, John, Isaac, Jordan, Xander, Bethany, Carter, Magnolia ; sisters , Jean Sproehnle and Echo Olson; and numerous nieces and nephews.

She is preceded in death by her son, Jeffrey Allen (JoAnne) Price; sister, Penny Eckenboy and great-grandchild, Willow Scott

A memorial service will be at 3:00 p.m., Saturday, November 10, 2018 at Anderson Funeral and Cremation Services, 218 W. Hurlbut Ave., Belvidere, IL. A visitation will be from 1 to 2:45 p.m. prior to the service. Deacon Armando Regalado will be officiating. Memorials in Joy's name may be made to the family to be established at a later date.
