Joseph W. Knaup, III, 27, of Rockford, IL died July 2, 2021, in Rockford. He was born January 9, 1994, in Elgin, son to Joseph Knaup, II and Sherry Kolberg. He graduated high school and worked as a laborer in manufacturing at Estwing. He attended the Salvation Army Church in Rockford. Joseph loved sports, his family and especially his children, Brooklin and Brinleigh. Joseph was a loving person who had a very kind heart.

Joseph will be dearly missed by his father, Joseph Knaup, II; his stepmom, Cristina Nuckles; grandmother, Karen Parker; grandfather, Joseph (Ruth) Knaup; daughters, Brooklin and Brinleigh; brother, Alan Kolberg; sisters, Latasha Cochran, Hannah Knaup and Ashley Gamlin; stepsister, Abigail Nuckles; and stepbrother, Jon Hirsch; special uncles, Hank and Mark (Jessica) Knaup; cousin, Rachel Knaup; special nieces, Luna and Harper; great uncle and aunt, Bill and Laura Hoffman; special mentor, Rich Gresty; and numerous family and friends. He is preceded in death by his cousin, Sarah Hoffman.

A funeral service will be held at 3:00 p.m., Friday, July 9, 2021, at Anderson Funeral & Cremation Services, 218 W. Hurlbut Ave., Belvidere, IL 61008. The Visitation will take place from 1:00-2:45 p.m. prior to service.Vicar Amanda Monroe will officiate. Memorials to the family to be established for his daughters.
