Joseph Fulkerson, Jr. 84, of Belvidere, died Saturday, April 20, 2013 in O.S.F. St. Anthony Medical Center. He was born January 11, 1929 in Marion, Illinois; the son of Joseph Fulkerson and Edna (Lewis) Royster. On December 2, 1950, Joseph married Lois A. Hanser in Fort Monmouth, NJ. He made the Army a career as an enlisted holding the rank of SPC E-7. Joseph served in the Korean War and Vietnam Conflict before retiring on March 31, 1967. He was then employed at Chrysler Corporation where he worked for 10 years before retiring. In his spare time he enjoyed Gardening, Computers, Woodworking and Remodeling. He is survived by his wife, Lois; two daughters, Kerry (Jim) DalSanto, Lynne (Vance) Reynolds; son, Stephen (Linda) Fulkerson; 6 grandchildren; 3 great-grandchildren. He is predeceased by his parents, a brother and 3 sisters and step-father, Clinton Royster.
