IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Joseph Todd
Anderson
November 6, 1965 – February 12, 2026
Joseph Todd Anderson, 60, of Rockford, passed away on February 12, 2026. He was born on November 6, 1965, in Spencer, West Virginia. The son of Lavon (Carpenter) and Joseph Edward Anderson.
Joseph was a proud graduate of Belvidere high school and honorably served his country in the United States Army. A hardworking and dependable man, he dedicated his life to providing for his family. He held various jobs throughout the years, most recently working at Rockford Ball Screw Company for eight years.
Joseph also spent many years serving his community as a security officer. He worked countless community events and partnered with area businesses, taking great pride in protecting others and standing watch over the people and places he cared about. He was steady, loyal, and always willing to step forward when needed.
On December 27, 1991, he married the love of his life, Susan, and together they shared 34 years of marriage. He was a devoted husband and a strong, loving presence for his family.
Joseph had a playful spirit that shone brightest on Halloween. He delighted in planning elaborate costumes and playfully scaring neighborhood kids, always making sure to clear his schedule so he wouldn't miss the tradition. Beneath his tough exterior was a man who loved to laugh, tease, and create memories that would be talked about for years.
He found peace in the outdoors. Joseph loved fishing, hunting, and simply breathing in the fresh air. Nature was where he felt most grounded, most himself.
Joseph will be deeply missed for his strength, his loyalty, his humor, and the big, loving heart he shared so freely with those fortunate enough to know him.
He is survived by his wife, Susan Anderson; daughter, Renee (Zach) Rieskamp; sister-in-law, Judy Furguson; neighbor and close friend Frank, animal companions that include his dog, Ranger, and cats, Pepper and Chili. He is also survived by numerous extended family members and friends he loved dearly.
He is predeceased by his parents, Joseph and Lavon Anderson, his grandparents, as well as his brother-in-law, Jewel Ferguson.
Cremation rites have been accorded.
