John F. Steljes, 71, of Belvidere, passed away Wednesday, October 5, 2016 at Alden Debes in Rockford, surrounded by his loving family. John was born November 26, 1944 in Chicago, IL, son of Albert J. "Happy" and Kathryn L. (Coffey) Steljes. He married Catherine Sroka on October 5, 1963 in Chicago, IL. John was a truck driver and was a member of Teamster's. He loved playing the guitar, and music.

John is loved and will be missed by his wife, Catherine "Kitty"; children, Deborah "Debbe" (Robert "Nick") Minson, John (Denise) Steljes, and Pamela "Pam" (Gilbert "Gill") Jefferson; 10 grandchildren; 7 great-grandchildren, and 2 great-grandchildren on the way; sisters, Valda J. Fasano, and Judy Marzec; and numerous nieces and nephews.
