John E. Faley, 54, of Seattle, Washington, died on Wednesday, September 29, 2010 in his home following a courageous battle with cancer. John was born on December 5, 1955 in Dixon, Illinois, the son of John M. and Irmgard (Uttenreuther) Faley. John graduated from University of Wisconsin - Stevens Point with a double major in Biology and Wildlife Management. He later earned his M.B.A. in Accounting from the University of Connecticut in Storrs, CT. He has resided in Seattle since 1985. He worked as a C.P.A. for various companies and held the position of Internal Auditor for Weyerhaeuser. He was amember of the Catholic Faith. He was a dedicated volunteer for the Intiman Theatre in Seattle. He was an avid bird watcher. He was also a member of the Mountaineers. He led hikes for the group. John was also a member of the Native Plants Society. John is survived by his significant other, Michiko McAndrew, Bellevue, WA; three siblings, Fred (Debby) Faley, Yacolt, WA; Darline (Art Torres) Christiansen; and Dan Faley, Chicago, IL; four nephews, Nate (Kim) Faley, Ben Faley, Mark (Michelle) Bloomfield and Fred Faley; two nieces, Bethany (Jeff) Lockwood and Shannon (Jay) Redden. Two aunts and two uncles also survive him. John is preceded in death by his parents.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Boone County Conservation District or Ida Public Library for Children's Programs.
