John Allen Bond, 83, of Poplar Grove, passed away peacefully, Wednesday evening, June 8, 2016 at Heritage Woods of Belvidere surrounded by his loving family. Born July 7, 1932 in Poplar Grove, IL, son of Roscoe Bond and Abby Peters, raised by John and Maude (Wheeler) Allen. John graduated from Capron North Boone High School. He married the love of his life, Prudence Carol Rumore on January 18, 1952 in Poplar Grove. John was employed by the State of Illinois as an Animal Health Inspector. He enjoyed gardening, traveling, fishing, and horses. John loved talking to people and had many friends.

John is loved and will be missed by his daughter, Deborah (Robert) Bryan; grandsons, Patrick (Baryth) Bryan, Matthew (Lora) Bryan, Adam (Renee) Bryan, and Joshua (Nicole) Bryan; 17 great-grandchildren; brothers, James Bond, and Gene Bond; numerous nieces and nephews, and special friends, Ralph and Ellen, and numerous neighbors.

Funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m., Tuesday, June 14, 2016 at Anderson Funeral and Cremation Services, 218 W. Hurlbut Ave, Belvidere, IL 61008, with Rev. Keith Manley officiating. Visitation will be held from 9:30 a.m. until the time of service. Burial will be in Poplar Grove Cemetery.
