Joanne C. Roman, 80, of Belvidere, died Tuesday, June 12, 2012 in Maple Crest Care Center. Born August 10, 1931 in Amboy, Illinois; the daughter of Theodore Roosevelt and Annabelle (Hartzell) Pitzer, Sr. Employed as a worker for the Illinois Tollway System for eleven years. Member of First United Methodist Church, Bykota Guild, Women's Club of Belvidere and Women of the Moose, Belvidere Lodge 1052. She is survived by three sons, W. Edward (Julie) McCoy; Dennis R. (Heidi) McCoy and Monte B. McCoy; five grandchildren; five great grandchildren; sister, Margaret Muetterties and brother, Theodore R. (Shirley) Pitzer, Jr.; sister-in-law, Dorothy "Dot" Pitzer. Preceded in death by her parents, a grandson, Sean E. McCoy, brother, Douglas R. Pitzer; and brother-in-law, James Muetterties.
