Joanne M. Potempa, 79, of Belvidere, passed away peacefully, Monday, September 18, 2017 at Park Place in Belvidere. She was born November 13, 1937 in Chicago, IL, the daughter of George and Josephine (Forest) Wieczorek. She graduated from Alvernia High School in Chicago. Joanne was employed by Motorola for many years. She also worked at the Itasca Country Club as a Hostess. Joanne loved reading, dogs, and shopping at the dollar store. Her greatest accomplishment was raising her 3 boys.

Joanne is loved and missed by her former husband, Walter Potempa; her sons, Steven Potempa, Mark (Barb) Potempa, and David (Patti) Potempa; 11 grandchildren, and 7 great-grandchildren; sisters, Georgia (Tom) Thomas, and Gerry Stencel; as well as numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents.

A memorial gathering will be held from 1:00p.m., until 4:00 p.m., Saturday, September 30, 2017 at Anderson Funeral and Cremation Services, 218 W. Hurlbut Ave, Belvidere, IL 61008.
