Joanne was a deeply devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. On August 15, 1982 she married the love of her life, Thomas Nicholl, and together they shared 40 years of marriage. She loved to work alongside her husband and together they managed Elmwood Park Standard and later a laundromat. She enjoyed crafting and helping her grandchildren on school projects. Joanne volunteered for Infant Welfare in Elmwood Park and she loved the children in her life. She was supportive and strong in her convictions. She shared the stories of her youth, and her time visiting her family in Denmark. She will be remembered by her strong faith, her free spirit, and her dedication to her family. She will be missed by many.
