Jim L. Slaven, 68, passed away peacefully on February 24, 2019 in Rockford, Illinois. Born on February 12, 1951 to Preston and Plina (Koger) Slaven in Lakeland, Florida. Jim married the love of his life, the late Lisa (Dugan) Slaven on January 22, 1986 in Hammond, Indiana. Jim received his high school diploma from Scott County High School in Georgetown, Kentucky. He then went to work for Poli-Film of America for over 25 years.

Jim enjoyed spending time with his loving family, going fishing
with his best friend Chet, going to the casino, bowling, and shooting pool.

Jim will be missed dearly by his children, Johnny (Heather)
Slaven, Jerry (Dawn) Slaven, Robert (Jackie) Slaven, Lacee (Matt) Sattelberg,
Aaron Slaven, and Alex Slaven; his sisters, Janet (Gary) Allen and Kathy
(Robert) Parker; his brother, Jerry (Pam) Slaven; his grandchildren, Jeffrey
Slaven, Aleysha Slaven, Logan Slaven, Alexis Slaven, Trent Slaven, Justin Slaven,
Jake Slaven, Leah Slaven, Ava Slaven, and Tyler Rice; his great-grandchildren,
Macie and Mila; numerous nieces and nephews; and his best friend and fishing
partner, Chet Bennett.

He is preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Lisa; and
his son, Ricky Slaven.

A visitation will be from 10:00 a.m. to 12:45 p.m., Thursday,
February 28, 2019 at Anderson Funeral and Cremation Services, 218 W. Hurlbut
Ave. Belvidere, Illinois, 61008. A funeral service will be held at 1:00 p.m. on
Thursday, February 28, 2019 at Anderson Funeral and Cremation Services. Pastor Robert
Kopp will be officiating, and burial will take place at Belvidere Cemetery. In
lieu of flowers, memorial contributions, in Jim's name, may be made out to the
