Belvidere, IllinoisJennifer R. "Jenn" Carlson, 24, of Belvidere, IL died March 10, 2007 in Chicago, IL the result of an apartment fire. Jenn was born October 20, 1982 in Rockford, IL the daughter of Michael and Barbara (Wienk) Carlson. Jenn was studying to be a clinical massage therapist and was working as a waitress for Stocks and Blondes, Guthrie's, both in Chicago, and Take 20 in Belvidere to put herself through school. Jenn was very artistic and a great photographer. Her favorite photographs were those of storms. She enjoyed shopping and spending time with friends, but her true passion was her son Blake, whom she loved very much. Jenn had a bright smile that could light up the darkest moment as she journeyed through life. She attended Open Bible Church and was involved in Cross Currents as a teen in Rockford.Survivors include her parents, Mike and Barb of Belvidere; her son, Blake Carlson-Goodwin; sisters, Andrea (Travis) Hazard of Wisconsin, Jaclyn Carlson of Rockford; nieces, Sarah, Mya Carlson, Hannah Hazard; nephews Joshua, Jacob Hazard; grandparents, Shirley (Richard) McKenzie and Clara Wienk; numerous aunts, uncles and cousins.Jenn is predeceased by her grandfather, Ron Carlson; aunt, Kathy Von Haden and uncle, Richard Wienk.

A memorial is being established at General Mills, Credit Union through Green Giant and at Belvidere National Bank under the benefit account of Blake Carlson, in Jenn's memory.
