Jeffrey W. Smith, 49, of Garden Prairie, Illinois died Friday, March 28, 2008 at home following a sudden illness. He was born June 20, 1958 in Belvidere, Illinois the son of Lee and Lois (Moore) Smith. Jeff married Deborah A. Cordray in Belvidere on January 8, 1983. He was employed as a carpenter by K-Tel Construction. Jeff attended First United Methodist Church and was a member of the Carpenters Union Local 2087. He enjoyed fishing and farming. He was an avid Bears Fan and Nascar fan. Jeff graduated from Belvidere High School in 1976. He is survived by his wife, Debbie, two daughters, Megan and Morgan Smith, all of Garden Prairie; his mother, Lois (Dan) Richmond, Janesville, Wisconsin; a sister, Kris Hyser, South Beloit, Illinois; two brothers, Jack (Connie) Smith and Steve (Carla) Smith, both of Belvidere; two brothers-in-law, David (Dana) Cordray, Garden Prairie and John (Donna) Cordray, Belvidere; and his mother and father-in-law, Jay and Mary Cordray, Garden Prairie; grandmother, Lillian Moore, Belvidere. Many aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews. Preceded in death by father, Lee and grandfather, Clarren Moore.
