Jeanette M. Johnson, 81, of Belvidere died Thursday January 5, 2006 at Park Strathmore Nursing Home. She was born on June 3, 1924 in Wheeler, WI. to Martin and Mabel (Holtan) Giere. She married Lennart Johnson on May 29, 1948 in Menomonie, WI. She worked at Ace Hardware for 15 years until her retirement in 1984. She was a member of Zion Lutheran Church where she was involved with the Church Pioneer Club, attended Victory Lutheran Church in Arizona. She was also a member of W.E.L.C.A., Women of the Moose, Red Hat Society both here and in Arizona, Sunny Brook Travelers Club, and was a volunteer for Meals on Wheels, and Highland Hospital Auxiliary. She especially loved to bake and travel.She is survived by her husband of 57 years, Lennart, son: James (Cindy) Johnson of Mackinaw, IL., daughter Kirstin (David) Hammerslag of Gilbert, AZ., grandchildren: Benjamin, Emily, Sarah Hammerslag, and Jessica Johnson, sisters: Margaret Riedel, Ida Lausted, Arlene (Donald) Jensen, Geraldine (Donald) Mense, Audrey (Russell) Peterson, Marilyne (Charles) Johnson, brothers: Raymond Giere, Roger Giere, and numerous nieces and nephews. She is predeceased by parents, a brother Vernon Giere, and a sister Stella Hansen.
