Jeanette "Jan" Holden, 82, of Belvidere, IL passed away in her home on May 28, 2023. She was born on January 27, 1941 in Aurora, SD. The daughter of Anna and Jake DeJong. Jan was a deeply devoted wife, mother, and grandmother. She was a long-time member of the First United Methodist Church in Belvidere. On December 17, 1988 she married, Clark Holden, and together they shared 17 years in marriage. Jan worked for many years at Woodstock Die Casting in production. She also worked for over 20 years at OSF Hospital in housekeeping. She will be remembered for her strong faith, and dedication to her community and her family. She will be missed by many.
She is survived by her children, Cynthia (Kevin) Borman of Harvard, IL, Chris Hatfield of Arkansas, Kim Adams of Belvidere, Penny (Jeff) Lilly of Texas, Terri (Olandis) Harris of Poplar Grove, IL; grandchildren, Mikael Thames, Zack Enk, Taylor (Michael) Rourke, Gage Enk, Natalie (Henry) Wojtczak, and Austin Lilly; sisters, Mary, Virginia, and Jesse; as well as close friend and caregiver, Heather Rubeck. She is also survived by numerous extended family members and friends whom she loved dearly. She is welcomed into heaven by her husband, Clark Holden; son-in-law, Rusty Hatfield; and her parents, Anna and Jake DeJong; as well as numerous brothers and sisters.
Jan's Visitation will be Thursday, June 1, 2023 at 11 a.m.-12:30 p.m., at First United Methodist Church, located at 610 Bonus Ave, Belvidere, IL 61008. Funeral service to follow at 12:30. Burial at Windridge Memorial Park and Nature Sanctuary, located at 7014 S. Rawson Bridge Rd, Cary, IL 60013. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to First United Methodist Church in memory of Jan. The family would also like to extend their appreciation to Northern IL Hospice for their care.
