Jean Ann Schoepski, 88, formerly of Poplar Grove, passed away peacefully at Independence Village on Saturday, December 4, 2021 with her three daughters and son at her side. Jean was born on March 17, 1933 in Poplar Grove, the daughter of Allan and Mary (Kagel) Wares.

Jean loved reading, cooking and baking. She enjoyed the many years she waitressed in area restaurants. Jean was an avid Cub fan. She also enjoyed watching old westerns and movies. Jean was a member of the United Methodist Church of Poplar Grove. Jean married John (Jake) Schoepski on August 28, 1950. Jean was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Jake, on August 17, 2016 as well as sister, Shirley (Roy) Robinson, and two grandchildren.

Jean is survived by her brother, Wayne (Vonnie) Wares and sister-in-law, Darlene Schoepski, daughters Connie Scott, Jackie (John) Zick, Vickie (Charlie) Miller and son, Don (Maggie) Schoepski along with grandchildren, Michelle (Bob) Rever, Marc (Lisa) McNames, Brett (Brittney) Zick, Kyle (Brittni) Zick, Blake (Danette) Miller, Adam (Kelley) Miller, Ashley (Zach) O'Daniel, Addison, Owen and Clayton Schoepski as well as 11 great-grandchildren.

A visitation will be held at Anderson Funeral and Cremation Services, 218 W. Hurlbut Ave., Belvidere, IL on Friday, December 10 from 10:00 a.m. – 12:45 p.m. with a memorial service at 1:00 p.m. Burial at Highland Garden of Memories.In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorials be made to North Boone District #3 Firemen's Association, 305 W.
