Jean F. Hyser, 87, of Belvidere, IL died peacefully April, 12, 2024 in Rockford, IL. She was born in Belvidere, March 24, 1937, daughter to Francis E. and Eda Mae (Ricedorf) Vail.  She attended Belvidere schools. Jean married Robert D. Hyser, November 15, 1957, in Belvidere. She was a homemaker and loved spending time with family and friends, frequenting area restaurants, traveling, and word search and crossword puzzles.

Jean is loved and will be missed by her son Larry (Jeannette) Hyser, Gary (Pam) Hyser, Tim (Donna) Hyser, Tom (Kari) Hyser, and Rob ( Angela); sister, June Wikoff Colorado; 17 grandchildren; and 19 great-grandchildren.

Jean is preceded in death by her husband, Robert; son, Craig; daughter, Penny Lynn; grandson, Kevin Bender; parents; sister, Doris (Vai) Rankin; brothers, Franklin "Mike" Vail, Charles Vail, David Vail and Edmond Vail.

There will be a burial of Jean's cremated body at 10 a.m., Wednesday, May 8, 2024 at Garden Prairie Cemetery, Garden Prairie, IL.
