Jay A. Hobbs, 52, of Rockford, Illinois, died Tuesday, April 27, 2010 in Swedish-American Hospital following a three month illness. Jay was born on July 13, 1957 in Belvidere, Illinois the son of Harold E. and Nancy (Calder) Hobbs. He was a graduate of Belvidere High School, Class of 1976 and Illinois State University, class of 1981. He moved back to Rockford a year ago from Phoenix, Arizona. Jay was a District Manager for Office Max in Arizona. He was recently employed as a Manager of Petco in Rockford. Jay was a longtime member of First Presbyterian Church. In his spare time, Jay enjoyed playing golf.He is survived by his mother, Nancy (Jim Richards) Hobbs, Rockford; two brothers, Mike (Kaelei) Hobbs, Roscoe, Illinois; and Jeff (Dena) Hobbs, South Beloit, Illinois; three nephews, Brian Hobbs, Ryan (Cristen) Hobbs, Jared Hobbs, and niece, Julie Hobbs. There are also several grand nieces and grand nephews and other relatives and friends including his dog "Trinity".
