Jay Gosnell, 65, of Poplar Grove, IL, passed away peacefully surrounded by his family on October 21, 2021, in Rockford. He was born April 28, 1956 in Chicago, to James and Betty (Gilland) Gosnell.He was a proud member of the VFW and American Legion.Jay was a cement contractor, who owned Jay Gosnell and Son Cement Contractor Company.He enjoyed fishing, playing his guitar, and spending time with his family and friends.

Jay will be missed dearly by his mother, Betty; daughter, Jennifer (Kurt) Collins, son, Mike (Jody) Gosnell, daughter, Constance (Don) Bailey; grandchildren, Nicholas, Edgar "EJ", Kailyn, Angel, Addison, Graycee, Shelby, and Jaxson. He was preceded in death by his father, James "Bubba"; sister, Diane Gosnell; nephew, James "Jimmy" Gosnell; and his beloved Frito.
