Janice Sue (Lambert) Gritzmacher, 86, passed away on May 23, 2025, in Belvidere, IL.  Born on May 16, 1939, in Clintwood, VA.  Janice lived a life marked by a passion for adventure and a deep love for her animals.  A true enthusiast of life's joys, Janice was known for her love of shopping, particularly her talent for finding treasures at garage sales, which she delighted in sharing with her loved ones.  Her zest for life and her knack for scoring the perfect shopping deals were infectious.  During Janice's career, she worked in factories and retail.  She was an employee at Arnold Magnetic Technologies, Warner Electric in Marengo, IL, and later at Kmart in Belvidere, IL.

Janice was a special mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother.  She is survived by her children, Paula Lightner Sherman, Robin Shacklee Brown, Scott (Jennifer) Shacklee, and Jimmy (Cyndee) Shacklee; stepson, Mark (Kathy) Gritzmacher and step-daugther, Lori Anderson;  grandchildren, Kristin (Josh) Beard, Jocelyn (Gary) Campbell, Bryce (Stacey) Trevino, Brent (Sarah) Trevino, Jaryd Reinhofer, Devan Shacklee, Jordan (Autumn) Shacklee, Justin Hedman, Trevor (Krystin) Hedman, Breanna Hedman, Eric Gritzmacher and Robby Anderson;  and many adored great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Richard "Dick" Gritzmacher; her daughter, Pamela Lightner Trevino; her grandson, LCpl Branden Ramey; her siblings, Patsy Pfaffinger, Jack Lambert, and Art Lambert; and her parents, Henry Lambert and Rissie Pucket Lambert, as well as her stepmother, Tilda Smith Lambert.

A memorial service to celebrate Janice's life will be held at 11:00 a.m. on June 5, 2025, at Anderson Funeral & Cremation Services, located at 218 W. Hurlbut Ave, Belvidere, IL 61008. Following the memorial service, Janice and Richard will be laid to rest at Belvidere Cemetery, Belvidere, IL.

Instead of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to the Branden Ramey Memorial, 4425 Bloods Point Road, Belvidere, IL 61008, which supports scholarships for continued education opportunities for Belvidere High School students in athletics and teaching.  Donations can also be made to the Lambert Cemetery, P.O.
