Janice Marie Anderson, age 99, of Belvidere, Illinois, passed away peacefully on June 30, 2025, just six days after celebrating her 99th birthday. She was born on June 24, 1926, in Union, Illinois, to Ida Mae (Routt) Swanlund and Alfred John Swanlund. Raised on the family farm, Janice grew up understanding the value of hard work, faith, and resilience.

As a young woman, Janice met and fell in love with Hiram Richard Anderson. They married on November 24, 1945, and shared 42 wonderful years together. Hiram preceded her in death in 1987, but Janice carried his love and memory with her always. Janice was a devoted wife, a nurturing and supportive mother, and a beloved grandmother, great-grandmother, and great-great-grandmother.

Over the years, Janice worked in several area factories, including Dean's. Outside of work, she found joy in simple pleasures. She was an avid bingo player and loved the camaraderie and fun it brought her. She also enjoyed a hot cup of coffee in the morning and a sweet pastry to go with it. She leaves behind a legacy of love, perseverance, and grace.

She is welcomed into heaven by her husband Hiram Anderson; son, James; daughter, Judy; siblings, Herbert, Carl, Doris, Marilyn, and Barbara; grandson, Douglas, as well as her parents, Alfred and Ida Mae Swanlund.

Janice is survived by her son, Richard (Sherry) Anderson; daughter, Linda Brinkmeyer, as well as numerous grandchildren, great grandchildren, and great-great-grandchildren. She is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews, and extended family members she loved dearly.

Janice's visitation will be Monday, July 7th at 9:30am-10:30am at Anderson Funeral Home. Located at 218 W. Hurlbut Ave. Belvidere, IL 61008. Graveside service will be at 11am at Highland Gardens of Memories.
