Janet M. "Jan" Tomlin, 46, of Belvidere passed away Thursday February 9, 2006 at Swedish American Hospital surrounded by her family. She was born November 12, 1959 in Rochelle, IL. the daughter of Charles J. and JoAnne (Smith) Freeman. She attended Belvidere schools and graduated from Belvidere High School class of 1977. On October 7, 1978 she married David J. Tomlin in Belvidere. She worked as an accountant for General Mills-Green Giant for 27 years. Jan was a very loving person, caring, fun, compassionate and unique. She was an avid reader, liked to shop, especially at out of the way places and had an eye for the unusual. She enjoyed collecting her angel and cat figurines.She is survived by her husband of 27 years David of Belvidere, son: Daniel J. Tomlin of Belvidere, parents: Charles and JoAnne Freeman, father-in-law: Keith Tomlin, sister: Brenda K. (Daniel) Huston of Sarver, PA., brother Timothy W. (Kelly) Freeman of Loves Park, sisters-in-law: Christine Duncan, Kathy Martin, Beth Tomlin, brothers-in-law: Vincent Tomlin, Mark (Isabelli) Tomlin, Patrick (Nancy) Tomlin, Steven Tomlin, special friend and cousin: Sue (Doug) Fugate, several aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins, friends, and will be greatly missed by her dog Mitzi. She is predeceased by grandparents, and mother-in-law, Elizabeth Tomlin.
