Janet Lynn Cox, 76, of Loves Park, IL, passed away October 22, 2023. She was born on June 25, 1947 in Roselle, IL, the daughter of Harry and Frieda (Siems) Cox. Janet was a loving and free-spirited person. She adored the outdoors and quality time with her family. Her favorite pastime was travel. She went to Alaska, Hawaii, the Bahamas, New York, and Colorado. When she couldn't travel, she would find a good book to adventure within. Janet worked at various administrative jobs including Unocol, Enesco, and IL Tool Works INC. She enjoyed spending her time caring for her plants and her cat, Buttons. Janet retired in 2017. She enjoyed her retirement taking care of her pet bird named Tweety. Above all, Janet loved her family. She was a devoted daughter, and her mother, Frieda's, caregiver for many years. She will be remembered for her smile and the joy she brought to those she loved.

Left to cherish her memory is her sisters, Darlene Redeker of Garden Prairie, IL, Carol Mensching of Carol Stream, IL; nephew, Ken Redeker of Belvidere, IL; nieces, Brenda (Brad) Fidder of Sun City West, AZ, and Pamela Redeker, of Belvidere, IL; great nieces and nephews, Tiffany (Christopher) Meyer, Tracey Redeker, Benjamin (Melanie) Fidder, all of Belvidere, IL, and Brandon Fidder of Alton, IL; great-great niece, Everlee Anne Meyer. She is also survived by many extended family members and friends whom she loved dearly. She is welcomed into heaven by her parents, Harry and Frieda Cox; and brother-in-laws, Marvin Mensching and Leonard Redeker.

Janet's visitation will be Friday, November 3, 2023 at 10am at Anderson Funeral & Cremation Services, located at 218 W. Hurlbut Ave., Belvidere, IL 61008. Funeral to follow at 11am. Burial will be at Shattucks Grove Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Alzheimer's association in memory of Janet.
