Janet Barr, 82 of Belvidere, died peacefully, November 26, 2014. Janet was born September 21, 1932 in Geneva, Illinois. Daughter of Victor and Wilma Larson. Janet graduated from NIU in 1955 and worked as a kindergarten teacher. She married James T. Barr on April 7, 1956. Janet was a member of First United Methodist Church in Belvidere. She enjoyed her grandchildren and had a love for animals.
Janet is loved and will be missed by her husband, James of Belvidere; children, Victor (Elizabeth) Barr of Rockford, Greg (Laurie) Barr of Deux Montagnes, Canada, Mark Barr of Rockford; sisters, Audrey Glemza of St. Charles, IL, and Nancy Nelson of St. Charles, IL; 8 grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. Janet is preceded in death by her parents; sister, Delores "Sis" Cofey and brother, Jack Larson.
Memorial service will be held at 2:00 p.m., Tuesday, December 2, 2014 in Anderson Funeral and Cremation Services at Buck-Wheeler-Hyland Chapel, 218 W. Hurlbut Ave, Belvidere, IL, with Pastor Greg Barr officiating.
