Jane M. Hamill, 83, of Belvidere, died Sunday, August 27, 2006 in her home from a long illness. Born February 15, 1923 in Oconomowoc, Wisconsin, the daughter of Francis G. and Margaret (Goodrow) Schields. She married George Patrick Hamill in Milwaukee, Wisc., on November 22, 1941. Jane was employed as a Quality Control Technician by Green Giant Co. for many years retiring in 1981. A member of St. James Catholic Church, a member and past president of the V.F.W. Women's' Auxiliary and member of the American Legion Women's Auxiliary. She enjoyed cooking. In her spare time she enjoyed playing Bingo and collecting Bears. Jane was a graduate of Oconomowoc, (Wisc.) High School. She is survived by her daughter, Donna (DeWayne) Silberhorn, of Rockford; a Son, John (Dolly) Hamill, of Belvidere; 4 grandchildren, Tina Hamill; Kelly Hamill; Jason Silberhorn and Joey-Lin Silberhorn; 1 great-grandson, Calvin Thomas Hamill; a nephew, Ronald Schields and a special friend, Toni Whitehead. Jane is preceded in death by her parents, husband, 2 infant daughters at birth and a granddaughter.
