Obituary

James R. Reser, 83, died at 11:05 A.M. on Tuesday July 4, 2006 at Northwoods Care Centre following a lengthy battle with cancer and heart condition. His family was able to be by his side during his last week surrounding him with love. He was born May 15, 1924 in Belvidere to Arthur Sr. and Zora (Prater) Reser. He served our country with the 2nd Marine Division during WWII. On October 14, 1968 he married Dorothy Busch in Rockford, IL. He was a member of the Degree of Service Moose Legion Post #169, past governor of the Harvard Moose Post #1289, past president of the Arkdale Lions Club, VFW Post #6279, and the American Legion Post #0192 in Marengo, IL. He enjoyed woodworking and gardening. He is survived by daughters: Donna (Gene) West of Poplar Grove,IL., LaVon (Bill) Baxter of Wildwood, FL., Diane (Joe) Harris of Belvidere, IL., Connie (Tim) McHugh of Sandusky, OH., Step-sons: Gerald (Lindsay) Busch of Anchorage, AK., Dennis (Jane) Busch of Southlake, TX., Step-daughter: Karen (Dennis) Brady of Crystal Lake, IL., 11 grandchildren, 1 step-granddaughter, 20 great-grandchildren, half-sister: Doris (Milton) Lund of Belvidere, IL., sisters-in-law: Doris Reser of Belvidere, IL., Hazel Ashbaugh of Hebron, IL., Irene (Bill) Callahan of Ocala, FL., Maryetta (Dale) Everson of Boerne, TX. He is predeceased by his wife Dorothy on January 28, 2006, parents, brothers: Ralph and Art Jr., and grandson Mikey Glass. The family would like to extend special thanks to Dr. Pocock and the staff of Northwoods Care Centre for all their care and concern they showed dad during his stay.
