James "Minna" Frederick
Wyman
February 25, 1956 – May 14, 2026
James "Minna" Frederick Wyman, born February 25, 1956, to Lorraine (Maurer) and Durlin
"Harry" Wyman of New Glarus, Wisconsin, passed away peacefully at home on May 14, 2026, after a courageous battle with esophageal cancer.
James was a triple athlete at New Glarus High School, where, in 1972, he set the school record for the fastest wrestling pin of 14 seconds, as well as the most pins in the season, 9 in total, as the only freshman on the roster. His father's work took the family to South Korea, where James discovered a passion for pool, becoming a true pool shark. Then he met Donna; he took her on the back of his motorcycle, riding through a bonfire. When she held on tight, he knew he was in love. On May 5, 1979, they were married in a celebration so grand, the town of Capron was lined with Harleys as far as the eye could see.
A proud retiree of Labor Union 1035, James loved motorcycles, classic cars, family, and fishing. He was always up for a swap meet or an auction, and he delighted in cruising the Milky Way with Donna in their 1948 Chevy, their 1970 Nova, or his most recent pride, a 1994 Camaro Z28.
He is survived by his daughter, Casei, and her husband, Joe; his son, James, and his wife, Nicole; and his cherished grandchildren: Durlin, wife, Aaliyah; Nataleigh, Vivyinn, and Paul; along with a great-granddaughter, Azalia, and another great-grandchild on the way. He also leaves behind his sister, Kathleen; his brother-in-law, Steve, and his wife, Chris; his little sister-in-law, Sue; as well as three beloved nieces and three nephews, seven special great-nephews, and two great-nieces.
He was preceded in death by the love of his life, Donna; his parents, Lorraine and Harry; his beloved brother, Paul; and his loving in-laws, David and Marina Harter, as well as his dear nephew, Danny.
A celebration of life will be held on June 28 at the Capron Lions Park, from 2 to 6 p.m.
Cremation rites have been accorded, and James will be laid to rest alongside Donna in a private ceremony at a later date, entrusted to Anderson Funeral Home.
