Obituary

James D. Countryman, 69, of Rockford, died Wednesday, March 23, 2011 in Swedish American Hospital following a lengthy illness. He was born on December 25, 1941 in Cambridge, Wisconsin, the son of Roy G. and Isabelle (Wikum) Countryman. Jim graduated from Belvidere High School and attended Kendall College in Evanston, Illinois. He was past president of Countryman Lumber Company, Belvidere, Illinois and retired in 2008 after a life long career in contractor sales. Jim was a devout Republican, a member of the Methodist faith and a member of the I.O.U. Club. He enjoyed watching NASCAR and supporting the Chicago Bears. Jim is survived by his two sons, Kevin (Michelle) Countryman and Kip (Anita) Countryman; daughter, Krista (Jan) McKissack; six grandchildren; Korin, Natalie, Ryan, Kayla, Kenslie, and Kylie and three great-grandchildren; Emily, Garrett and Aubrie; his mother, Isabelle and brother Terry (Nancy) Countryman. He is preceded in death by his father Roy and brother Tom Countryman.
