Belvidere, IllinoisIngrid Augusta Mann, age 89 a fifty year resident of Belvidere, Illinois and formerly of Rockford died early Saturday morning, February 4, 2006 in Northwoods Care Center after a 2 year illness. She was born January 11, 1917 in Varmland, Sweden the daughter of Axel and Ester (Anderson) Wernstrom. Ingrid came to Rockford, IL from Varmland, Sweden when she was 7 years old with her family, who operated a bakery in Rockford for many years. Ingrid married Mr. Harlan D. Mann on May 29, 1940 in Rockford. Ingrid was a beautician for 36 years. She was a former member of the Belvidere Garden Club. She volunteered at Midway Village Museum and Belvidere Conservation District. She collected antiques, and she designed hand-hooked rugs that were sold throughout the U.S. Ingrid enjoyed reading, gardening and traveling with her friends.Survivors include her daughters, Carol Morris of Beloit, WI, Mary Mann and special friend Richard Yaksich of Mt. Prospect, IL; grandchildren Lisa Morris of Leesburg, VA and Gregory Morris of Woodstock, IL; sisters, Brita Perkins of Belvidere, Il and Barbara Harris of Deerfield, IL. Ingrid is predeceased by her husband and parents.The family wishes to acknowledge Northwoods Care Center for the special, tender care given to Ingrid.
