Ida Hieb, 74, passed away on March 7, 2019 in Rockford, Illinois. Born on February 15, 1945 to Hank and Linda (Wind) Vander Veen in Hegebeintum, Friesland in the Netherlands. She married the love of her life, Marvin Hieb, on August 18, 1972 in Chino, CA, where she was a member of CrossPoint Christian Reform Church for 45 years and served as a head usher for 23 years. Upon moving to Belvidere, IL Ida and Marvin became members of First Baptist Church here in town. Ida worked as a house provider at the Salem Christian Home for the handicap and had several residents there she adored and they adored her just the same. Being there for her residents was a passion of Ida's. She only missed one day of work over the many years she was there. Ida also would babysit for jazzercise, a dance fitness franchise. When she wasn't working she enjoyed bowling.

Ida is loved and will be deeply missed by her husband, Marvin; children, Timothy (Deana) Hieb; siblings, Audrey (John) Tjaarda, Cindy (Jim) Lower, Sam Vander Veen, Frank (Linda) Vander Veen, Clara (Richard) Myers; and grandchildren, Taylor Hieb, William Hieb, and Nolan Hieb.
