Hubert D. "Dale" Sanders, 83, of Belvidere, was called home by his Lord with his family by his side on Saturday, December 12, 2009 in O.S.F. St. Anthony Medical Center following a courageous battle with cancer. Dale was born January 9, 1926 in Iowa City, Iowa, the son of Clifford and Hazel (Momenteller) Sanders. He married Geraldine J. "Jerry" Buske in Stockton, Illinois on June 13, 1948. Dale was employed as a crew leader for N.I. Cor for 37-½ years before retiring. He was a former member, Deacon, Trustee and Elder at First Presbyterian Church. He then attended Immanuel Lutheran Church. Dale graduated from Stockton High School class of 1944 and immediately joined the Navy during WWII. He was proud to be an American and enthusiastically showed his Patriotism. Dale is survived by his wife, "Jerry"; four daughters, Diana Sanders, Cindy (Brad) Taylor, Melissa (Bob) Helgerson, all of Belvidere and Lori (Dave) Kubly of Rockton, Illinois; six grandchildren, Shaun (Jonette) Taylor, Shannon (Dan) Goodsell, Nate (Rachel) Helgerson, Ashlee (Drew) Hilton, Mandy (Brock) Behnke and Troy Taylor; five great-grandchildren, Jillian Taylor, Aaron Taylor, Haven Goodsell, Arra Goodsell, Jordan Helgerson and one other that's on the way. A sister, Jane. He was preceded in death by his parents.

Memorials may be directed to the family in his name, a memorial fund will be established at a later date.
