Howard LeRoy McMahon, 87, of Capron, IL passed away, November 15, 2023. He was born on October 18, 1936 in Chicago, IL. The son of Alice Marie (Albecker) and William Edgar McMahon. Howard was a dedicated husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather. On June 17, 1961, he married the love of his life, Victoria (Szostakowski), together they shared 2 children and 62 years in marriage. Howard was a veteran of the United States Air Force. He worked for many years with the Chicago Transit Authority as a bus driver. He enjoyed hunting and wood working. Between 1980 and the 1990's Howard was the Assistant Chief of the Capron Rescue squad. Howard and Victoria would surprise visit extended family members in Florida. Every year he went to the Sturgis Motorcycle Rally. 2023 was the only year he was unable to attend due to his illness. He also spent 6 weeks every year going to Nome for Gold Panning in Alaska. He will be missed by many.

He is survived by his wife, Victoria Antoinette McMahon; their sons, Charles Raymond (Mary) McMahon and Christopher Joseph (Kim) McMahon; grandchildren, Justin (Jess) McMahon, Falisha (Edward) Armentrout, Kasandra (James) Algozine; 15 great-grandchildren; as well as numerous nieces, nephews, and extended family members whom he loved dearly. He is welcomed into heaven by his parents, Alice and William McMahon; and his brother, William Robert McMahon.

Howard's visitation will be Friday, November 24, 2023 between the hours of 5-7pm at Anderson Funeral & Cremation Services, located at 218 W. Hurlbut Ave., Belvidere, IL 61008. Funeral Service will be Saturday, November 25th at 11am at Anderson Funeral & Cremation Servies. Pastor Charles Waggoner officiating. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Capron Rescue squad in memory of Howard.
