Howard O. Jordan, 88, of Belvidere, Illinois died Wednesday May 12, 2010 in OSF St. Anthony Medical Center after a lingering illness. Howard was born February 19, 1922 in Marengo, Illinois the son of James Oscar. and Greta (Berg) Jordan. He married Florence M. Burnett on April 18, 1953 in Immanuel Lutheran Church in Belvidere. Howard was a millwright retiring from Barber-Colman Company. He served our country in the US Army as a medic with the 30th Infantry, 117 Battalion during World War II. He was a recipient of four Bronze Stars and two Purple Hearts during the invasion of Normandy and the Battle of the Bulge. Howard was a member of Immanuel Lutheran Church and John Hugo Kaiser V.F.W. Post 1461.He is survived by his children, Kathy (Tom) Gustafson of Belvidere, Illinois; Warren Jordan of Lone Tree, Colorado; grandchildren, Andrew, Elizabeth, Matthew and Jonathan; sister, Lorraine Carpenter of Belvidere and many nieces and nephews. Howard is predeceased by his parents, wife, Florence and an infant sister.
