Herman W. Strawn, 86, a resident of Clinton, WI, since 1984, formerly of Mosinee, WI. and Garden Prairie, IL., passed away Thursday morning, September 28, at Alden Meadows, Clinton, following a lengthy illness. He was born in DeKalb County, IL on May 9, 1920 the son of William H. and Blanche (Hyser) Strawn. Married Evelyn E. Pundt on August 31, 1940 in Belvidere. He was a machinist for the National Sewing Machine Company in Belvidere and for Arnold Engineering in Marengo, retiring in 1984. A member of the Belvidere local I.A.M. Union, a member of the Dary-Paulsen American Legion post 440, Clinton, and a 50 year member of Loyal Order Moose Belvidere Lodge #295. Herman enjoyed fishing, hunting and golf. He was a veteran of the U.S. Navy, WWII Pacific Theatre. Survivors include his wife, Evelyn; a daughter, Sally Jeanne (Arthur) Dredske, Poplar Grove and a son, Terry Lee (Maureen) Strawn, Atlantic, Florida; seven grandchildren and several great and great-great grandchildren. Predeceased by parents and a sister, Helen Strawn.
