Herman Hobert Hollingsworth, 96, of Belvidere, IL, died peacefully September 14, 2020, in Rockford, IL. He was born November 27, 1923, in Beecher City, IL to Hobert "Tony" Hollingsworth and Gladys Henry. He married his sweetheart, Nancy Johanningsmeier, May 23, 1987, in Belvidere. Herman graduated from High School and worked at the United States Postal Service for many years. Herman served in the Navy from 1943 to 1945 and was honorably discharged. Herman loved collecting Lionel trains and was a member of the Wood Carving Club in Rockford.

Herman is loved and will be dearly missed by his wife, Nancy; daughter, Mary (Karl) Holeton; stepchildren, Robert (Buffy) Grupe, Terry (Joe), Chris Guarise, Shelia (David) Stewart, Scottie (Connie) Johnson, Sandra (Mark) Wahler and Stewart (Lynn) Johnson; many grandchildren and great- grandchildren; and brother, Earl Hollingsworth.

He is preceded in death by his parents; and sons, Michael and Martin Hollingsworth.
