Henry J. Johnson, 80, of Loves Park, died unexpectedly, Thursday, December 15, 2011, in OSF St. Anthony Medical Center. Born December 29, 1930 in Peoria, son of Henry J. and Drucilla (Rimington) Johnson, Sr. Married Alice Henninger on September 8, 1956 in Peoria. Worked as a counselor at Belvidere High School for 28 years, retiring in 1992. Henry was very active in his community and especially his church, Holy Trinity Episcopal Church. Past president of Boone County Mental Health, former Rotary member, United Way, IEA, NEA, BEA, and volunteer for St. Joseph. After retirement Henry volunteered in the guidance department in Belvidere North High School.Survivors include his loving wife Alice, daughters Susan Johnson of Paletine, Sharon (Brian) McDaniel of R.S.M., Calif., son Richard (Diane) of Rockford, grandchildren Katherine Johnson, Kyle, Nicholas and Michael McDaniel, and brother Dale Johnson. Predeceased by his parents, and brothers Harold, Richard and Howard.

In lieu of flowers memorials may be given to the family to establish a scholarship fund in Henry's name at the Belvidere High School.
