Henry D. "Hank" Trifone, 79, passed away Thursday morning, May 30, 2013 at home in Belvidere after a courageous battle with cancer. He was born in Chicago on July 19, 1933, the son of Henry D. and Mildred (nee Rumsy) Trifone. He is survived by Karen (nee Ulrich), his loving wife of 32 years and his brother, Dan (Gloria) Trifone. Hank had a great deal of gratitude and appreciation for his first wife Mary (nee Pfeifer) and pride in their surviving children, Cathy (Bruce) Denham, William (Connie), John, Jeanne, Daniel, Marianne and Edward (Marie) and predeceased by sons, Robert, James and Thomas. He is also survived by his loving stepchildren, Pam Tylka, Bonnie (Jeff) Eich and predeceased by Sandy. Hank was also blessed with a multitude of grandchildren and great grandchildren. He served proudly in the United States Army from 1953 to 1955, and then began a 26 year career as Circulation Manager for the Chicago Tribune while living in Oak Park, and then after retirement in San Diego, CA; Bowling Green, KY; Clintonville, WI, Peoria, IL; and finally in Belvidere, IL. He was a very avid, albeit not the most skilled golfer, diligent White Sox and Bears fan, and longtime member of the American Legion and Loyal Order of Moose Lodges. He passed away content, happy and proud of his life on earth and at peace with God.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be sent for patient needs to OSF Hospice at 9951 Rock Cut Crossing, Loves Park, IL 61111.
