Henry Arthur, age 61, of Belvidere, Illinois passed away from sudden illness on Saturday, December 10 at approximately 9:00PM in the comfort of his own home, in his favorite lounge chair.

Henry Arthur was born on June 11, 1955 in Dekalb, Illinois to the loving parents of Norma Jeanette Arthur (Abbott) and Lowell Thomas Arthur. Henry married his teenage sweetheart, Debra Arthur (Rollins) on August 19, 1978 at United Methodist Church in Belvidere, Illinois. Their paths first crossed in high school during Driver's Ed class and their marriage persevered for 38 years.

Henry was a devoted and proud father of two children, Allen Arthur, age 32 and Kayla Arthur, age 29. Other survivors include his loving wife, Debra; brother, Bruce Arthur; sister, Linda (Engin) Sahin; nieces and nephews, Joshua (Stephanie) Arthur, Tori, Jordin, and Devin Scherer.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Lowell and Norma; sister, Sandra Scherer; and sister-in-law, Sue Arthur.

Henry acquired a lifelong interest in cars at a young age from his father. In high school, he drove a 1954 Ford Victoria, he graduated from Rock Valley College with a degree in automotive studies, he was a loyal Ford enthusiast and he spent his career working in the automotive and heavy truck industries.

When Henry wasn't working on automobiles, in or out of work, he was an active member in the Stateline Toy Club. He spent his weekends pursuing antique toy shows with his wife, Deb.

A funeral service, celebrating Henry's life will be held at 12:00 p.m., on Friday December 16, 2016 at Anderson Funeral & Cremation Services, 218 W. Hurlbut Ave., Belvidere with Rev. Monty Fox officiating. Visitation will be from 11:00 A.M.-12:00 P.M., at the funeral home. Burial will take place at Belvidere Cemetery. In lieu of flowers a memorial can be made to the family to be used at a later time.
