Helen L. Walberg, 84, of Garden Prairie, Illinois died Friday Morning, February 11, 2005 in O.S.F. St. Anthony Medical Center following a sudden illness. Born July 1, 1920 in DeKalb County, Indiana to John Frederick and Jennie Marie (Elliott0 Imler. She was married to Lars Bloomquist, he died in 1944. She later married John Bloomberg. He died in 1970. She then married Edwin H. Walberg in Belvidere on February 14, 1996. She was employed as a First Grade Teacher for the Belvidere School district for 31 years before retiring. Member of Evangelical Covenant Church, Belvidere Retired Teachers Association and Ladies Missionary Society which is now known as the Evangelical Covenant Women. Helen graduated from Fort Wayne Bible College. She is survived Husband, Edwin H. of Garden Prairie; step-daughter, Grace Halsted, Rockford; two step-sons, Herb (Joy) Walberg, Garden Prairie; Bob (Madeline) Walberg, Belvidere; grandson, James Allen Bloomquist, Jr. four step-grandchildren, Todd (Diana) Walberg; Wayne (Gwen) Luckey; Julie Walberg; Tom (Pam) Walberg; four step greatgrandchildren; brother, John (Ruth) Imler; Preceded in death by Son, James Allen Bloomquist; Sister, Irene Diehl and brother Charles Robert Imler.
