Helen I. Sanford, 92, of Belvidere, died Monday, July 29, 2013 in OSF St. Anthony Medical Center surrounded by her family. Born July 13, 1921 in Cisne, IL; daughter of Harry and Nellie (Block) Stine. Married Frank Redician on July 5, 1956 in Fairfield, he died in 1974. Worked for St. Joseph Hospital in central supply for 20 years. Helen was the most wonderful, unselfish mother anyone could have, she was a very classy and dignified lady. She loved helping make her great-granddaughter's Halloween costumes. The family would like to extend a special thank you to the staff at OSF St. Anthony, especially to Nurse Christy for their compassionate care. She is survived by her beloved daughters Karla (Kenneth) Culvey-Sheahan of Rockford, Cindy (Bob) Culvey-Morgan of Apache Junction, AZ, Cheryl (Jim) Culvey-Fassett of Garden Prairie, and Sandra (Charles "Tom") Culvey-Meyers of Belvidere; 13 grandchildren; 22 great-grandchildren; 7 great-great-grandchildren; sister Hazel Reel of Cisne; sister-in-law Marjorie Pennwarden, Mickey Billman; several nieces and nephews. Predeceased by her parents, husband Frank, daughter Donna LaBuy, granddaughter Laura Rednor, 5 brothers, and 3 sisters, and a sister-in-law.
