Helen E. RomanHelen E. Roman, 94, of Belvidere, died Wednesday, July 5, 2006 in her home after a lingering illness. Born September 13, 1911 in McHenry, Illinois, the daughter of Henry and Sophie (Niss) Eicksteadt. She married Harold K. Roman in Belvidere, Ill. on March 9, 1935. Helen was employed as a Machine Operator for Belvidere Work Clothing Company for 19 years retiring in 1978. Member of St. John United Church of Christ and the Rock River Handweavers making rugs. She also made clothes for Porcelain dolls. Her survivors include, daughter, Patzi Roe, Los Angeles, CA; a son, Donald Roman, Belvidere; seven grandchildren; seventeen, great-grandchildren; and three great-great grandchildren; she is preceded in death by parents, husband, two sisters and three brothers.
