Belvidere, ILHelen Joyce Mapes, 70, of Belvidere, IL died Friday morning, May 17, 2013 at the University of Wisconsin Hospital in Madison, WI after a courageous second battle with cancer. Helen was born January 3, 1943 in Belvidere, IL the daughter of Theodore and Mae Robinson. Helen enjoyed life to the fullest. She had a great humor and loved to laugh. Her hobbies included travel, books, playing cards and any type of puzzles. She was a social butterfly and was liked by everybody. She will be sorely missed but never forgotten. Helen was a member of the American Legion Auxiliary and loved to participate in their events. Survivors include Scott and Sharon (wife) Schweighauser of Roscoe, IL and Kyle Schweighauser of Eugene, OR; grandchildren Taylor, Garrett, and Lars; sister Jesse Parsons of Delaware, OH. Close friend Pat Atkins.We would also like to acknowledge the many close friends at Sheffield Apartments that Helen enjoyed. Helen is preceded in death by her parents and brothers Dale and Larry.
