Helen M. Emanuel of Belvidere, IL went home to be with her Lord on March 5,2018. Helen was born on December 2,1920 in Detroit, MI the daughter of Mathias and Emma Ohlsen. She married Lawrence W. Emanuel on January 26, 1940 in Belvidere, IL, Lawrence preceded her in death on September 22, 1998. Helen was a lifetime member of Immanuel Lutheran Church, Belvidere, IL. She was involved in Ladies guild and was a member of the Sanctuary Staff. Helen volunteered at Highland Hospital and was active in the 4H community. Helen loved to spend her free time crocheting and making quilts for her family.

She is survived by her daughter, Joyce (Richard) Davis of Belvidere; two brothers, James Ohlsen, Matt Ohlsen; four grandchildren, Nicholas (Cathy) Engelsen, Jeffrey (Michelle) Davis, Michael (Kelly) Davis and Melissa (Todd) Weaver; seven great-grandchildren, Jennifer, Brian, Adam, Hannah, Tyler (Victoria), Madison, Jonathan, 4 step great-grandchildren, Sydney, Charlie, Steven, Matthew as well as numerous nieces and nephews. Preceding her in death were her parents, a son, Bryon Emanuel; one brother Louis Ohlsen and one Sister Dorothy Stevens.

A funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m., Monday, March 12,2018 at Immanuel Lutheran church, 1045 Belvidere Rd, with the Rev. Allan Buss senior pastor officiating. A Visitation will be held from 9:00 am until 10:45 prior to service. Burial in Highland Garden of Memories. In lieu of flowers, a memorial will be established at a later date in honor of Helen's memory.
