Harriet E. (Moore) Schultz, 71 of Belvidere, IL passed away, Monday, December 7, 2015 at Heritage Woods of Belvidere. Harriet was born August 18, 1944 in Rockford, IL the daughter of LaVerne and Rowena (Barker) Moore. Harriet and her 14 siblings attended a one room school house which subsequently closed when the family moved to Durand. Harriet married Gerald W. Schultz on March 3, 1962 in Durand. She worked various jobs, while raising four daughters, two nieces and several neighborhood kids, which included General Bell in Genoa, The concession stand at the Belvidere Park, Housekeeping Supervisor at Northwoods Health Care Center for many years, Owner and operator at the corner café and cashier at the Cracker Barrel in Rockford. Harriet was well known for her homemade pies and homemade holiday sugar cookies. Harriet was a very active member of the Eastern Star with 25 plus years of service; as well as a 20 year member of the Eagles and 15 years as the bowling secretary.
Harriet is loved and will be missed by her daughters, Candy (Dale) Rabe, Teresa (Doug) Heuer, Melissa (Paul) Severson, Jennifer (Jay) Voiles; 9 Grandchildren, 14 Great-grandchildren and one on the way; special nieces, Margaret (Don) Jensen and Ruth Reed their 7 Children and 3 Grandchildren; siblings, Donald (Donna) Moore, William Moore, Nancy Bryant, Joann ( Philip) Brooks, Russell Moore, Kenneth (Janet) Moore, Harold (Rhonda) Moore, Sharon Armistead, several nieces and nephews. Harriet is preceded in death by her husband, Gerald; parents; brothers, Robert, Stephen and David Moore; sisters, Marian Bratton, Linda Knoll and Shirley Barnum.
Memorial services will be held at 3:15 p.m., Saturday, December 12, 2015 in Hunter United Methodist Church, 3315 Hunter Road, Caledonia, IL 61011, with Rev. Tom Hay officiating. Memorial visitation will be held from 1:00 p.m. to 2:45 p.m., Saturday at the church with Eastern Star Rites at 3:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers, Memorials may be given in care of the family.
