Obituary

Harriet E. (Morgan) Glass, 96, of Belvidere, Illinois, was called home to be with the Lord on February 16, 2025, in her home, surrounded by the love of her family.

Born on September 22, 1928, in Plankinton, South Dakota, Harriet was the daughter of James W. Morgan and Neva Cecil (Bridges). She graduated from Belvidere High School in 1946, where she began to establish her strong connections in the community that she would cherish throughout her life.

On June 14, 1947, Harriet married Edward "Ned" Glass. Together, they shared 58-years of  marriage. Harriet was a devoted mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, and she found her greatest joy in the children of her life. Her nurturing spirit and steadfast devotion will be remembered by all who knew her.

Harriet's career as a secretary in the District 100 schools spanned many years, where she was well-known and deeply respected by both staff and students. Her caring nature and warm presence left a lasting mark on the community.

A lifelong member of the First Presbyterian Church of Belvidere, Harriet was a pillar of faith, contributing to the church for over 65 years. She was also a dedicated member of the Faith Circle for 40 years, where her service and kindness enriched the lives of others.

In addition to her love for family and faith, Harriet enjoyed knitting, sewing, gardening, puzzles, and refinishing furniture. She took great pride in crafting handmade clothing for her children when they were babies, and she cherished tending to her garden as a source of peace and beauty.

Harriet's memory will live on in the hearts of  family, friends, and all those whose lives were touched by her unwavering love and grace. She will be deeply missed but forever cherished.

She is survived by her daughter, Debra (Ed) Jannisch; sister, Imogene Bye, many nieces and nephews; grandchildren, Meagan (Hector) Roman, Sarah L. Napp, Shana (Ryan) White, Adam (Elana) Napp, Scott Jannisch, and Jessica (Mike) Jannisch Spera; great-grandchildren, Andrew Napp, Dominic White, and Kyrian Roman, Danielle (Rafi) Roman Rodriguez, Easton Jannisch, Nathan Fredrickson, Noah Fredrickson, and Cameron Spera.
