Harold C. Winne, Sr., of Machesney Park, died unexpectedly Thursday, November 22, 2012 in Winter Haven, FL. Born June 26, 1934 in Poplar Grove; son of Raymond and Hazel (Sturgis) Winne. Married Gail J. Brown on April 9, 1954 in San Francisco, CA. Harold was a 1952 graduate of North Boone High School and served in the US Marines from 1952 to 1955 as a Master Sergeant. He was inducted into the Beloit Bowlers Hall of Fame in 1991, and was an avid golfer, participating in many leagues and tournaments. Additionally, Harold was an ardent follower of his grandchildren's sports and activities. He was a member and past president of the Lion's Club, and a long-time member of the Moose Club. Survived by his loving wife Gail; sons Harold Jr. (Valerie L.) and Howard (Fawnda J.); grandchildren Ben, Rachel, Daniel, Sarah, Bethany, Michael, Adam Wells, and Alec Wells; 6 great-grandchildren; many nieces and nephews. Predeceased by his parents Ray and Hazel, brother Clifford (Pat), 2 sisters Doris (Dick) Welch, and Louise (Bruce) Burton.
