Harold A. Johnson, 77, of Belvidere, died Wednesday, November 5, 2008 in Swedish-American Hospital following a courageous battle with cancer. Born January 12, 1931 in Chicago, Illinois, the son of Harold A. and Marie (nee Hangen) Johnson, Sr. He has resided in Belvidere since 1999. He was married to the former Valarie (nee Burek) Johnson. He worked in construction as a pipefitter for Chicago Pipefitters local 597. He was raised in the Lutheran faith. Harold's hobbies included fishing and golf. He also enjoyed spending time with his family. He is survived by his two sons, Robert H. (Susan L.) Johnson, of Bloomingdale, Il.; and Ken ( Nancy) Johnson, Elk Grove Village, Il and a grandson, Ryan R. Johnson of Bloomingdale. He was preceded in death by his parents, wife and a sister, Ruth.
