Harold A. "Chief" Williams, 77, of Belvidere, Ill. died Monday, August 7, 2006 in his home following a sudden illness. Born October 18, 1928 in Chapelton, Jamaica, West Indies. The son of Stephen and Ethel (Christian) Williams. Having immigrated from the West Indies in 1950 to Florida, he moved to Belvidere, Ill. in 1953. Married to Ethel Thornton in Florida on May 27, 1952. Employed as a Steelworker by the National Gray Iron Foundry, Belvidere, Ill. for 30 years before retiring. He is survived by his former Wife and Mother of his Children, Ethel L.; twelve children, Barbara (Michael) Webster; Dorothy (David) Nwaoha; Duke L. Williams; Direse D. Goodwin; Glendalen (Ernest) Beard; Wanda J. Buchanan; Januie (Sharon) Williams; Ranual E. Williams; Fellesha S. Williams; Zakeron (Ida) Williams; Nattanald C. Williams; Tenecia T. Williams; thirty Grandchildren; 18 Great Grandchildren; a sister, Dorothy Bartlet; two brothers, Arthur (Tie-Tie) Williams; Ronald Williams; many nieces, nephews, friends and other relatives. Preceded in death by, Son, Oliver R. Williams; 4 Brothers, Zephaniah; Sidney; James and Donald Williams; 3 Sisters, Edith Stephens; Mae Smith and Evelyn Williams.
