Harold Cadie, age 77, of Belvidere, IL died peacefully, early Saturday morning, November 26, 2005 in his home after a lengthy illness. Harold was born November 2, 1928 in DeKalb, Illinois the son of George "Deb" and Mary Alice (Redman) Cadie. He served in the US Navy in the Pacific Theater aboard the US Purdy during World War II. His ship was attacked and Harold lost 19 of his shipmates. Harold was an Iron Worker for Iron Worker Local 393 in Aurora, IL. Among the projects he worked on were the Sears Building, Northern Illinois University Dormitories, numerous bridges and sewage treatment plants. Harold married Nyla Durham on September 11, 1993 in Belvidere, IL. He was member of Poplar Grove United Methodist Church and the Tri Chevy Club. Harold was especially proud of his '57 Chevy. He loved to roller skate and enjoyed collecting toys and trains.Survivors include his wife, Nyla; of Belvidere, IL; mother, Mary Alice Cadie of Cortland, IL; children, Larry Cadie of Belvidere, Richard (Julie) Cadie of Debary, FL, Debra (Dale) Dickison of Plymouth, IN, Kathy (Mel) Stewart of Belvidere, Roger (Sue) Cadie of Belvidere, Steven (Cathy) Cadie of Belvidere, Janis (James) Bakke of Belvidere, Cindy (Robert) Holmes of Sandwich, IL, Carla Cadie of Streator, IL; step children, Theresa (Steve) Merenkov of Walnut Creek, CA, Mark Durham of Belvidere, David (Shara Lynn) Durham of Belvidere, Brenda (David) Quast of Belvidere, Paul Durham of Belvidere, Kimberly (Kyle) Rosenberger of Belvidere, Jacob Durham of Rockford, IL; brothers, Jimmy (Leona) Cadie of Seneca, IL, Jerry (June) Cadie of Oregon, IL , Tom Cadie of Cortland, IL; Forty-Five Grandchildren, numerous Great-Grandchildren, nieces, nephews; former wife, Helen Cadie. Harold is predeceased by his father, George Cadie; son Lynn H. Cadie; brothers, Floyd, Paul Cadie; and second wife, Betty Cadie.
