Rockford, ILH. Roberta Suhr, 89, of Rockford, IL and formerly of Belvidere died peacefully, Saturday evening December 22, 2012 in her home following a lingering illness. Roberta was born May 20, 1923 in Sycamore, IL. She graduated from Sycamore High School with the class of 1947. Roberta married Clarence "Rocky" Suhr on April 12, 1947 in Sycamore, IL. Over the years Roberta worked at Lincoln School and also for Sundstrand. In her spare time she enjoyed ceramics and was a member of the Belvidere Federated Women's Club. Roberta was a member of Immanuel Lutheran Church, where she enjoyed volunteering and was a money counter on Monday mornings for several years.Roberta is loved and will be missed by her husband Clarence "Rocky" Suhr; children Kurt (Kathy) of Cherry Valley, Anita Carney of Bloomington, IL; three sisters Eleanor of Lombard, Irene of Arizona and Dorothy of Minnesota; numerous nieces and nephews. She is predeceased by her parents; sisters and brothers; and son in-law Russ Carney.Roberta's family acknowledges the tender care given by Hospice Care of America and the staff of Crimson Pointe.
